Willow
Willow is a 1950s dream, with a hand-painted skirt supported by a net petticoat and simple white cotton blouse inspired by the work of Christian Dior she reflects a cheerful, playful nature in all of us.
Experimenting through ideas of painting on fabric to create a custom floral design led to the birth of Willow who displays beautifully a 18th century inspired floral print on her white skirt base. She features the classic 1950's silhouette which was primarily introduced by Christian Dior's New Look introduced in 1949. This combination of very different times allows the 18th century reference to be presented in a more modern light yet still be in line with how it was presented historically.

Her skirt is very full and accentuated by the petticoat underneath, much like skirts throughout the 18th century - although they were full length. Her bodice is solely routed in the 50s, accentuating the bust with small pleats at its under-bust joining seam. This small detail in combination with the fullness of the skirt emphasises the wearers waist dramatically without any need for waist reduction.

Her skirt is made from a polyester satin which has been hand-painted using acrylic paint and a thinner suitable for fabric. Her bodice is a 100% cotton shirting with small vertical stripes.
